Sadly, Non Accidental Injuries are a fairly common occurrence in children, with 6.1 Australian children in 1000 suffering from neglect and abuse. As health care professionals we are mandated to report NAI’s, although legislation can differ between the states.
Using case based examples this webinar explores the different patterns of injuries suggestive of NAI including identifying risk factors, and how to report or escalate concern depending on which state you are in.
Participation in this webinar gives you the opportunity to make sure you understand how to recognise NAI and ensure you are equipped to manage a case of suspected NAI including reporting requirements.
It is recommended that all Healthcare providers complete this learning to gain a better understanding in how to identify signs of Non Accidental Injuries in children and your legal responsibilities as a health care provider in Australia.
