The ALERT™ course is a clinically focused course covering the assessment and management of patients with acute life-threatening emergencies presenting to pre-hospital settings, urgent/emergency care departments and acute hospital settings.
Delivered using a structured and practical approach, the course is divided into 5 core modules:
Approach to emergencies: including primary and secondary survey and the principles of crisis resource management
Airway and breathing: including haemoptysis, respiratory failure, pneumothorax, and drowning
Circulatory: including acute coronary syndrome, shock, acute pulmonary oedema, and pulmonary embolism
Disability: including concussion injury, seizures, pain, TIA, stroke, and dibetic ketoacidosis
Exposure: including anaphylaxis, burns, sepsis, envenomation, and oncological emergencies
Foundational pathophysiology is developed through interactive case studies to ground theory into practice. Live sessions will be delivered covering key topics from each module with on demand eLearning case studies and skills videos providing additional learning to apply your knowledge. You have 12 months to complete all the learning in the course with the option to attend the live webinars or watch on demand after the live event.
This course is fully accredited with RACGP and ACRRM and has been developed with a multidisciplinary focus for nurses, paramedics and doctors.
