Erectile Dysfunction: Clinical Summary Guide

04 August 2022 - Medcast Medical Education Team

Often primary care is the first point of contact for men with erectile dysfunction (ED) and General practitioners (GPs) are key to the early diagnosis and treatment 2.  ED is a treatable condition but is often not well managed which can result in negative impacts on the well-being of men and their partners.

ED is often associated with chronic diseases and as a result the evaluation of ED is an opportunity for patient education, the discussion of lifestyle interventions and the investigation of other comorbidities.

This clinical summary guide, produced by Health Male, has information about the GP’s role in the management of ED including clinical assessment and management approaches. It also provides guidance on referral pathways to other specialists.
