What you'll learn
- Achieve PALS certification
- Learn how to respond to paediatric emergencies
- Develop your skills in resuscitation team roles including leading in an emergency
- Manual defibrillation
- PALS pharmacology
- Patient assessment & management of reversible causes
- Non-technical skills including situational awareness & prioritisation
We currently offer two paediatric advanced life support course options: Blended and Face to Face
Both courses are developed by leading paediatric experts and resuscitation educators and are delivered in engaging and informative formats to assist with knowledge retention. Registration includes:
- Access to pre-course learning including eLearning & course manual
- Attendance at fully catered face to face workshop with PALS assessments
- Certificate of CPD attendance and PALS certification on successful completion
Our courses utilise simulation based training with realistic scenarios covering children and infants to allow you to practise your resuscitation skills in a safe and controlled environment. Choose which course option is right for you.
Blended
The blended program includes online learning completed prior to attendance at the one day practical workshop. The eLearning includes theoretical content, skills videos and interactive case studies and provides 6-8 hours of learning.
Participation in the face to face workshop allows you to develop your skills in all resuscitation team roles and provides plenty of opportunity to engage in learning via simulation and skills stations. This workshop includes assessment and certification on successful demonstration of team leader, defibrillation, CPR and communication. We use a supportive assessment process that mimics clinical practice with integrated assessments conducted throughout the program with the use of cognitive aids, and team members.
Upon completion of both the online learning and the hands on component, you will receive a digital certificate which will state the CPD and Medical College points allocated.
Face-to-Face
The face-to-face program includes optional online learning that we recommend you complete prior to attendance at the face-to-fact program. The eLearning includes theoretical content, skills videos and interactive case studies and provides 6-8 hours of learning. During the face-to-face program you will receive additional theoretical content delivered, and the opportunity to participate in a range of hands on skills stations, and simulations including clinical deterioration cases on day one.
