Androgen use, misuse and abuse eLearning course

This interactive online case-based learning activity aims to support GPs in the assessment, investigation, diagnosis and management of clinical presentations involving the potential use, misuse and abuse of androgens in clinical practice. 

Through participation in this course learners will be able to:

• Differentiate primary and secondary androgen deficiency diagnoses, and how androgens can be safely and appropriately prescribed as part of a treatment plan.
• Assess situations in which androgens could be misused and abused.
• Diagnose androgen deficiency using relevant screening and clinical investigations.
• Develop management strategies to address androgen deficiency and androgen abuse in patients.
• Apply open and non-judgemental communication strategies to promote harm minimisation in patient discussions on androgen abuse.
