Demystifying Dementia
The latest update to the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare’s (AIHW) report Dementia in Australia shows that dementia is the leading cause of disease burden among Australians aged 65 and over.
In the RACGP NewsGP article: Dementia now greatest burden of disease in over-65s published on 23 February 2023, Dr Anthony Marinucci, Chair of RACGP Specific Interests Aged Care, supported that the AIHW report reinforced the increasing impact of dementia on general practice.
