This accredited eLearning module has been developed to support pharmacists participating in the Victorian Community Pharmacist Program to safely and appropriately manage acute, mild musculoskeletal pain.
The course equips pharmacists with the knowledge and clinical decision-making skills required to deliver the Acute, Mild Musculoskeletal Pain service in Victoria, safely, consistently, and in accordance with legal and professional obligations.
Designed specifically for community pharmacists, the training focuses on providing pharmacists with information about musculoskeletal pain, and how to apply the protocol in real-world practice settings. Through guided learning, case-based scenarios, and clinical decision activities, participants will build confidence in patient assessment, medicine suitability checks, referral decisions, documentation requirements, and patient communication.
What the course covers
This 2-hour self-paced online module is structured around the typical pharmacist workflow and includes information about musculoskeletal pain, clinical assessment and management, decision pathways, communication, documentation and responsibilities, and the scope of the Victorian service.
This course is accredited with the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia (PSA).
