More than a race: Medcast takes on the Shitbox Rally – Autumn 2022

06 May 2022 - Medcast Medical Education Team

Shitbox Rally is not a race, it’s a challenge to drive cars worth less than $1,000 across Australia via some of its toughest roads to raise money for cancer research. This remarkable event has raised more than $27 million since the first rally in 2010.

Medcast’s team, led by our own Education Production Lead Greg Teuss, is setting off on the journey on 7 May 2022.

"This rally is an adventure of a lifetime and I am proud that all of the donations that our team have accrued are supporting Cancer Council – a cause that is close to so many people across Australia and Medcast particularly", says Greg.

Box Rallies (Shitbox Rally, Mystery Box Rally and Cancer Cruise) Founder James Freeman, who lost both of his parents to cancer within 12 months of each other, said "Shitbox Rally is not a race, but a reward for fundraising efforts. This is a chance to explore Australia, drawing teams from around the country to help achieve the extraordinary. Shitbox Rally – Autumn 2022 will be another incredible rally starting for the first time in Wollongong and finishing in Mackay. As with all rallies though, the route will be on the roads less travelled as we make our way into the Outback."

Keep an eye on Medcast's blog posts and social media pages to keep up with Tyre Kickers’ progress in the rally.
