Grants for GPs & Nurses - are you eligible?

These scholarships and bursaries are designed to help health professionals in rural and remote Australia retain and enhance their skills, capacity and scope of practice.  Funding is available to support the costs of completing postgraduate courses, short courses, workshops, conferences and seminars.

These grants are available through either the Rural Workforce Agencies Health Workforce Scholarship Program Australia or the RACGP's Rural Procedural Grants Program (RPGP).

Many qualified health professionals have been surprised to discover they are eligible for these grants (up to $10,000 per year). Here's a list of grants currently on offer and more information about eligibility and the application guidelines:

These grants can be used towards education such as:

  • Resuscitation Courses: Our Adult (ALS) and Paediatric (PALS) Advanced Life Support courses provide you with the latest in resuscitation protocols and the necessary skills to respond and provide treatment in a clinical emergency including cardiac arrest. We also offer stand alone or integrated Basic Life Support (BLS) courses for clinical and non-clinical participants including the latest recommendations for first responders, and practical skills for initial response to a clinical emergency including performance of CPR.
