Juliane Samara is a Specialist Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner with Southern NSW Local Health District and has more than 20 years' experience in palliative care, oncology, and aged care. She has held previous clinical roles at Clare Holland House and the Canberra Region Cancer Centre and is recognised nationally for her leadership in advancing palliative care services, education, and research. Juliane has received multiple national awards for her contribution to nursing and palliative care, was a member of the Commonwealth Aged Care Taskforce in 2023 and was a clinical lead in the award-winning Palliative Care Needs Rounds research, now widely published and implemented nationally and internationally. She holds a Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner), a postgraduate Certificate in Cancer and Haematology Nursing (University of Sydney) and a Bachelor of Nursing (University of Canberra).
